Iringa baskets are very durable and are woven with a herb called Milulu. In this area of the country called Iringa, there is a long history in the preparation of basketry, and this form of art constitutes part of the rich history of the Hehe people.

Each basket is carefully woven by hand for seven days. First, Milulu grass must be harvested along certain rivers in the highlands of southern Tanzania. This often requires long walks to collect the grass and then take it back to the local artisan village. Once harvested, the sun must be dried to prepare it for the tissue. When Milulu's grass dries properly, the basket is woven by hand, carefully intertwining these drawings that form traditional patterns, full today.

All products are handmade with love and with 100% natural and ecological materials. They can vary slightly in size, shape and color, but they are 100% original and unique!
