This wonderful design is known throughout the world as Jemima 10 Cows in honor of its creator, Jemima Akolgo, since she was the first to weave this type of baskets in Bolgatanga. Since then, Jemima has taught and inspired many other weavers with her innovative approach to traditional Gurunsi folklore.

Each of these baskets impresses with its beauty and size, and constitutes a unique creation (no two are alike!). Made over several weeks of hand work in Bolgatanga, Ghana, by master artisans who use a traditional technique to weave the grass “elephant grass” and their particular rhythm and flow, each piece comes directly from the hands of these artisan weavers and They are a reflection of her character: energetic, colorful, determined.

The Baba Tree Basket Company Ltd. is a local company that has been committed to an ethical business model for 15 years, with the aim of preserving the culture of basket weaving and the prosperity of the Gurinsi community in Bolgatanga. This company provides sustainable employment, fair and meaningful work to more than 250 artisans, causing a true social impact in the local community.

The Baba Tree pays school fees, funerals (one of the most important cultural traditions), hospital bills and health insurance for all its collaborators.

The weekly workshops offered, training in different skills and the weavers' own enthusiasm and innovation allow their mastery of this art to be recognized and admired by everyone.

All products are made by hand with 100% natural and ecological materials. They may vary slightly in size, shape and color, but they are 100% original and unique!

• Instructions for use: If you need to restore the shape of your basket (sometimes during transport or due to use, baskets can lose their original shape), you can easily do so by submerging it in water for 60 seconds, as that natural fibers soak and become moldable.

Shipments to the Peninsula are free with Standard Shipping, whose delivery time is 3-5 business days. If Express Shipping is chosen, with delivery in 1-2 business days, they cost €9.90, VAT included.

Shipments to the Balearic Islands cost €7.90, VAT included, and the delivery time is 3-5 business days.

RETURNS

You may withdraw from the purchase and return the products free of charge within a period of 30 calendar days from receipt of the order for any reason, and must proceed as follows:

• Returns from Spain : a code will be sent to you by SMS so that you can return the order for free at any Post office.
• Returns from outside Spain : we will coordinate with you the collection of the order by the courier company at the address you indicate.
