This carpet has been woven to loom by women who live in the area of Monte de Santiago del Estero, northern Argentina.
Historically the fabric craft was one of the most important activities during the colonial and modern period in this area, and today there are many women in the interior that are resisting losing this millenary work.
The hotels inhabit the Mount and their works respond to the needs of the community, but at the same time they recreate them to sell them and generate income. They use proper resources of the area and natural pigments for their dyeing, such as crying (black carob resin) for brown color, tanks, chasmark, chamomile, yerba matte or orange shells.
In this art there are several points to observe to consider the work in its proximity, and is that it must be taken into account, not only the realization of the loom, but also how the inventive, the reason and its aesthetic sense is developed and Creative, as well as the dexterity in the handling of the tools and the own operation of the loom: the telera can not neglect the threads that are crossing while with your feet moves the pedals of the loom and with your hands handles the comb or the shovel.
