This rug is super fluffy and soft and has been woven on a loom by women who live in the mountain area of Santiago del Estero, northern Argentina.
Historically, the craft of weaving was one of the most important activities during the colonial and modern period in this area, and today there are many women from the interior who refuse to lose this ancient work.
The teleras live in the mountains and their works respond to the needs of the community, but at the same time they recreate them to sell them and generate income. They use resources from the area and natural pigments for their dyeing, such as lloro (the resin of the black carob tree) for the brown color, leaves, chañar, chamomile, yerba mate or orange peels.
In this art there are several points to observe to consider the work in its proper measure, and it is necessary to take into account, not only the creation of the loom, but also how the inventiveness, the motif and its aesthetic and sense are developed to the maximum. creativity, as well as the skill in handling the tools and the operation of the loom itself: the telera cannot neglect the threads that she crosses while with her feet she moves the pedals of the loom and with her hands she handles the comb or the shovel.
All products are handmade with 100% natural and ecological materials. They may vary slightly in size, shape and color, but they are 100% original and unique!

RETURNS
