These napkins are dyed and hand-woven in a traditional manual loom, Composed by 80% cotton threadrecycling from retels from textile factories from Bangladesh andon20% recycled polyester. They can also be used as individual tablecloths.
It is a product made and obtained in an ethical manner supporting rural women in the northern part of Bangladesh, a region of the poorest in the area, located far from the largest cities. It is important to create jobs near home in this area so that rural women can provide an additional income without having to leave their families. Artisans can work in the modest workshop or from their homes in the schedule they prefer. The recycled cotton hand spinning yarn is spinning in simple rotating wheels in another rural area of Bangladesh. This producer is certified as fair trade according to the Fair Trade Forum of Ecota in Bangladesh and is in the process of becoming a Fair Trade member of WFTO.
