This basket, of modern and light design, has been made by one of the 600 artisan women of the Womencraft organization. It consists of natural fibers and to give it the white color, threads of recycled grain bags have been introduced.
Womencraft is a certified social company in Fair Trade located in Ngara, in the remote northwest of Tanzania. Its mission is to increase economic opportunities in the area of the triple post -conflict border of Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania, gathering rural women, facilitating their growth and connecting their art with the global market. Through Womencraft, more than 600 artisans improve their lives, form stronger families, stimulate their communities and inspire the world around them.
Since its foundation in 2007 with the aim of generating cohesion between refugees and their reception communities, Womencraft has always followed a peace -focused approach, connecting women from various origins through this company, allowing them to work together with an objective common. These relationships have reduced tensions between former refugees and refugee reception communities and have built the unit in a region very affected by the conflict.
All products are handmade with great care and with 100% natural and ecological materials. They can vary slightly in size, shape and color, but they are 100% original and unique!
